Wednesday, July 4th - Park visit, McDonald's, and Market

In honor of July 4th, Elise proudly wore her Star Spangled Banner ensemble.

Smiling in the lobby.

Hanging around touring the park.  Not sure of the exact name.  Mary (our guide) said translated it meant "People's Park."  Was beautiful and large.   Many people there - dancing, playing mahjong, adults playing chinese yo-yo, a man writing chinese characters in water on the ground, etc.  Again, very hot - mid to high 90s.

Was feeling a bit like caged animals at the hotel.  In speaking with our new friends from Florida, we learned of McDonald's and KFC.  So....we were daring to travel without our guide.  The only dangerous thing was to cross the street...but we made it.  Victory!  We rarely eat Mickey D's in the US...but boy, did their fries taste great!!!!

The McDonald's was located next to a department store.  Was very interesting to browse...especially in the meat and fish section.  Evidently you grab a net to get the live fish you want right there.  I didn't stick around to see what happened next.  Brett also saw live frogs and turtles.  YUM!  (NOT!)

Elise smiles when she is held up. The kids sign the Lion King Song when they do it.  (the part when they held up Simba)

She likes to hold things all the time.  Loves this ball...and loves her cups.

Looking at herself on Derek's computer and smiling.
Happy 4th!  No fireworks here, of course....only lots of honking horns.
